Regent Street’s Christmas lights comprise the most beautiful angels. This year’s display celebrates the area’s history and association with Christmas by referencing the original lights of 1954. I took the 139 bus to Waterloo on Wednesday evening and just loved the sparkling lights in the rain – Ronel van Zyl. 

The earth has grown old with its burden of care,
but at Christmas it always is young,
the heart of the jewel burns lustrous and fair,
and its soul full of music breaks the air,
when the song of angels is sung.
