Dubai is indeed an overwhelming place! It is literally an oasis in the middle of the scorching desert, almost as if it is not really there. The unbelievable buildings are super modern, although there are some traditional architecture in between. Everything is the biggest and best – from the shopping malls to the dancing fountains (one of my highlights!) and hotels.

I felt like a child again at the Atlantis Aqua Venture Water Park and screamed my voice to a hoarse whisper… The desert safari with the 4x4s is obviously one of the best experiences that you can have in Dubai. The driver was dead silent while testing the vehicle’s capabilities on the sand dunes. The desert silences you; you realise how small you are and how much there is on the outside.

One thing is for sure: Dubai has the best air-conditioning in the world. It was unbelievably hot on the outside, but once you step into a building, you’ll want to put on a jersey…

Our performance at Zinc was truly nice. I almost couldn’t believe that there are so many Afrikaans-speaking people who live in Dubai and that they support our artists in such a way! It warms my heart so much: Afrikaans is international. See – it is nice to be a human, but you should also be a nice human… The tour group was NICE!
