Afrikaans is Lekker has over the years grown into an international celebration of Afrikaans music and culture that deeply resonates with South Africans across the world. This beloved concert series, presented annually by SA Events in collaboration with AfriForum Wêreldwyd (English: worldwide), brings the sound, soul and spirit of Afrikaans to diaspora communities around the globe.

With each tour, Afrikaans is Lekker creates a unique space where people who share a connection to South Africa can come together to sing, celebrate and reconnect with their heritage. It is more than a concert – it is a joyful expression of belonging and cultural pride.

The Afrikaans is Lekker 2026 Europe Tour takes place in May 2026 and promises to be one of the most anticipated highlights for Afrikaans communities across Europe and the United Kingdom. Three of South Africa’s biggest artists – Liezel Pieters, Steve Hofmeyr and Snotkop – will bring their music, energy and character to five major cities:

  • 15 May 2026 – Dubai
  • 16 May 2026 – Amsterdam
  • 19 May 2026 – Edinburgh
  • 22 May 2026 – Newry, Northern Ireland
  • 23 May 2026 – Manchester
  • 24 May 2026 – London

Tickets are available at www.southafricanevents.com, or enquiries can be sent to events@southafricanevents.com.

According to Arno Nel, owner of SA Events and organiser of the Afrikaans is Lekker concerts, these tours are about far more than just music.

“It is a reunion for old friends and communities. It is a place to make new friends, enjoy good company and have one’s filling of your language and culture. Being happy in your new country doesn’t mean letting go of your roots. These concerts bring a piece of home to those far away – softening the longing we all feel.”

For AfriForum Wêreldwyd, the main sponsor of the tour, the concert series plays an essential role in helping Afrikaners abroad stay connected to their language, culture and heritage.

“Afrikaans is the beating heart of our community, no matter where you live,” says Sue-Ann de Wet, Head of Diaspora at AfriForum. “For many people living abroad, these concerts bring back a sense of belonging – a reminder that they remain part of something bigger. Music is a universal language of identity and memory. It bridges distances and reminds people: ‘I am still part of my people.’”

She adds that these events play a key role in strengthening communities: “Living far from your home country often means building a new life while still carrying a longing for what’s familiar. When people come together to sing in Afrikaans, to laugh and to celebrate, that longing turns into something beautiful – something that connects us. Afrikaans is Lekker is therefore not just entertainment; it’s a celebration of community, identity and pride. It is how we keep our culture alive: by living it, wherever we are.”

Afrikaans is Lekker 2026 is more than a concert series; it is a celebration of who we are. Come and experience the energy, passion and unity that make these shows unforgettable.
