Picasso said: “Good artists copy; great artists steal.”
This simply means that you may not have been first with an idea or concept, but that you can improve or adapt an existing idea that is already working. In other words, you are not merely imitating; you are making the idea your own.
I am always stunned that countries don’t look at each other’s technology or ideas (best practices) proactively. And more importantly, that businesses don’t look at each other’s technology or ideas proactively.
There are many non-competitive businesses that use world-class processes or concepts from whom you can learn to improve your own situation. Do you study the best of the best? There is no reason to redesign the wheel.
