Christmas is that special time of year when we get nostalgic over memories of friends and family, and our precious traditions in South Africa. And even though you find yourself at the other side of the world, AfriForum Worldwide still wants to be part of your Christmas celebrations. We invite you to share your unique Christmas moments with us. It does not matter if you celebrate Christmas in a white winter\u2019s wonderland or under the tropical sun \u2013 we want to share in your Christmas festivities. We want to learn how it is celebrated in the country in which you now live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We realise how important a festive board is at Christmas time. Tell us if you try to recreate beloved traditional South African dishes such as gammon, flavoursome leg of lamb or a fruit cake. Or are you discovering new dishes that are unique to your new country? We want to know about your recipes if there is a unique addition to your Christmas menu that bursts with the flavours of your new country. What about the sweet stuff: new desserts or a different variety of the beloved milk tart?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And what is the suburb like in which you now live? Are there shiny Christmas lights and gorgeous exhibitions or new d\u00e9cor inspirations? Each country has its own Christmas fancies. We are curious to know if you only admire your neighbourhood\u2019s Christmas lights and if you indulge yourself in creating that magical atmosphere. In some countries, Christmas is a silent celebration, or it is celebrated on a different day or even completely different from how we celebrate it in South Africa. Perhaps you live in a country where Christmas is celebrated in an unusual way, or where it is possibly not even a public holiday. It can be a challenge to keep the true Christmas spirit alive in a country where few Christians celebrate this day, but creating your own traditions brings a feeling of fulfilment in its own way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
