André and Kate of Two-V Productions regularly post videos of their encounters with wildlife during their visits to the Kruger National Park.

They write: “During one of our visits, we came across this baby elephant and her mother. She was very reluctant to follow her mother into the water at the bridge across the Olifants River and turned back a few times in frustration. First she was taken to a rocky part of the riverbank that she had to negotiate before reaching the water, all part of her learning curve. The movement of her trunk and her body language tells one how much effort this takes. At one point, her attention also wanders off as she chases an African Pied Wagtail away. Shortly afterwards, another elephant cow with a slightly larger calf arrives, and now the little one quickly has to follow her mother. See the way in which the little one lifts her legs and tail – she is not very happy at first, but later her self-confidence grows and you can see that she is enjoying the experience.”

All the sounds you hear in this and André and Kate’s other videos are the original sounds.
