Share yet another unique experience in the Kruger National Park with Two-V Productions’ André and Kate.

A Goliath heron (Ardea goliath) had just caught a big fish, when he got the fright of his life and lost his catch. Literally every feather on his head and neck stood upright! Also watch the reactions of the Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) and the African jacana (Actophilornis africanus) in the background.

Do not underestimate Goliath herons though. They are impressive hunters that kill and devour even small animals such as moles and ground squirrels.

All the sounds you hear in this and André and Kate’s other videos are the original sounds. Feel free to subscribe to their YouTube channel, Two-V Productions and like their Facebook page. Books in their Op Vlerke series can be ordered from Kraal Uitgewers. It can also be found at the shops in rest camps of the Kruger National Park. Please note that the books are only available in Afrikaans.
